Becetel vzw is happy to announce the extension of its testing capabilities with the introduction of the bend test for joints of thermoplastic materials. This additional test method further strengthens our expertise in the evaluation of fused joints in plastic piping systems and related applications.
The bend test, performed in accordance with EN 13067 and EN 12814-1 or DVS 2203-5, allows for a reliable assessment of the quality of butt fused and extrusion joints on pipes and plates made from thermoplastic materials. By subjecting fused specimens to controlled bending, the test provides valuable insight into fusion integrity and quality and potential defects.
With the addition of the bend test, our portfolio of testing methods is further expanded. In addition to the existing decohesion peel test, tensile test and crush test, we can now offer an even more comprehensive and complete evaluation of thermoplastic fusion performance.
This test method has already been evaluated during the most recent BELAC audit in January this year and is now part of our scope of accreditation, confirming our ability to perform the bend test in compliance with the relevant standards.
